1. Can we burn leaves, brush, or trash in the City?

No. The City does not allow residents to burn anything in the City.

2. What type of fire extinguisher is best for my home?

A multi-purpose fire extinguisher is best for the home. Look for the rating to be at least 2A:10B:C on the label. This extinguisher can be used on any type of fire commonly found in the home. It will often be labeled A-B-C.

3. Can I get my blood pressure checked at the fire station?

Yes. We offer this service free at the fire station located at 1717 N. Hwy. 175.

4. When are the outdoor warning sirens tested?

On the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 pm, the sirens are tested with a one minute blast. At times, this will be followed by a second test for one minute.

5. Does the Fire Department give tours of the fire station?

Yes. Citizens need to contact the Fire Department at 972-287-3330 to schedule a tour.
