Building Inspections

Responsibilities

The Building Inspection Department provides public safety by enforcing Municipal and State regulations and codes relative to the construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of all buildings or structures in the City.

The construction codes of the City shall be administered and enforced by the office of the Building Official. The City of Seagoville has adopted the 2018 Building Codes with Amendments.

During the months of September and October 2014 The Seagoville City Council adopted numerous ordinances that updated Seagoville building codes to reflect current standards. Until those ordinances have been fully codified, the new ordinances can be accessed via resources on this page.
