The City Council, at its regular City Council meeting on Monday, July 6, 2015, appointed Police Chief Patrick Stallings Interim City Manager. The action was necessary as a result of the voluntary refusal of Mr. Larry Graves to continue to serve in that position. Council member Hernandez stated “We, the City Council, believe Larry Graves has terminated his employment through abandoning his job duties.” Thereafter, the City Council, by a unanimous vote, approved the appointment of Mr. Stallings as Interim City Manager and provided for an increased salary to compensate him for his additional duties. Mr. Stallings will retain his responsibilities over the Police Department and may consider assignment of an Interim Police Chief, as he may deem appropriate.
