Boards & Commissions

City boards, commissions, and committees serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. These groups act as the voice of the residents of the City of Seagoville. All board meeting agendas are posted at City Hall and the Public Meeting Center.

BECOMING A BOARD MEMBER

Appointments

Annual appointments are completed in June by City Council. All terms are two years except for in the case of an unexpired term. Newly appointed and re-appointed members will be sworn-in and complete the necessary paperwork. All board members must have on file with the City Secretary:

  • Statement and Oath of Office
  • Public Access Form
  • OMA and PIA Training Certificates

Attendance

Attendance to board meetings is essential. A board member should not miss more than three (3) meetings during any twelve month period. Absence from three (3) consecutive meetings or four (4) cumulative meetings of a board, commission, or committee may results in the removal from a board.

Training

All certificates of completion should be forwarded to the City Secretary's Office.
